Hardwood
Hardwood floors are natural floors milled
from trees, so no two pieces are alike. Our
flooring design team will explain to you the
difference between engineered and solid hardwood
as it relates to lifespan, warranties, as well
as everyday maintenance. Many engineered
hardwood floors can last decades without ever
having to be resurfaced, but rather only
re-coated, while some solid hardwood floors,
when properly maintained and resurfaced, can
last up to 100 years!

Helpful Tips:
Take it from
someone who knows. Hardwood floors and large
animals (dogs) with sharp toenails simply don't
mix. The nails will damage the hardwood. A
laminate floor may be a better long term option
in this case. If you decide to go ahead with the
hardwood anyway. Make sure to select a solid
hardwood or an engineered hardwood with a
thicker top wood layer, as the surface may have
to be refinished multiple times over the life of
the floor.
